Your files and transcripts stay on your computer. We don’t receive any of it.

What stays only on your computer
- The audio and video files you choose. The browser reads them and Prontei transcribes them on your computer. They are not sent to any server.
- The transcripts and the history. They are kept in IndexedDB, this site’s storage in your browser.
- The speech recognition model files, after you authorize the download. They are kept in this site’s storage in your browser.
- Your preferences and, if you turn on usage data, the counts and the code described below.
There is no other copy: if you clear this site’s data in your browser, any transcripts you have not exported are lost.
Where your browser connects
Prontei uses only these addresses. None of them receives your files or your transcripts.
- app.prontei.com, this site, hosted on Cloudflare. The pages, the program that does the transcription and the model files come from here. Cloudflare receives normal connection data, such as your IP address. The site uses no visitor analytics tools. Cloudflare’s policy
- huggingface.co and addresses on hf.co, from Hugging Face, only if downloading the model from this site fails. They deliver the same files, which Prontei checks the same way. Hugging Face receives your IP address, as with any download. Hugging Face’s policy
- telemetry.prontei.com, only if you turn on usage data, described in the next section.
Links you click, such as those on the licenses page and the one to the contact page, open other sites, under their own rules.
Usage data (only if you turn it on)
This sharing is off by default. It starts only if you turn on the switch below, and Prontei works the same without it. It helps us learn where Prontei works well and fix errors.
What is sent, as counts per day:
- When a transcription ends: the file’s duration range (for example, “between 5 and 15 minutes”), the model used, whether it ran on the graphics card or the processor, and the result (completed, failed or cancelled).
- When a model is downloaded: the model and the result.
- A random code that changes every month. It is not tied to your name, email, account or device.
What is never sent: files, audio, file names, transcripts, exact sizes or durations, and page addresses.
Where it goes: to telemetry.prontei.com, on Cloudflare, and it is stored in a Neon database in the United States. Cloudflare sees your IP address to deliver the data, but we don’t store the IP address.
How long: the data sent is deleted after 45 days. After that, only totals without any code remain, for up to 13 months. Very small groups (fewer than 10 codes) are merged with others or discarded.
How to stop or delete: turn it off at any time with the switch below. To delete what was already sent, use “Delete shared data”. That button does not delete the totals without a code, and database backups may keep the data for up to 6 hours. If you clear this site’s data first, you can no longer request deletion, but the data disappears on its own within 45 days.
How we use data
We don’t sell data and don’t use it for advertising, user profiles or training models.
How to delete everything
To delete one transcript, use “Delete” in the history. To delete the transcripts, the history, the models and the preferences all at once, clear this site’s data (app.prontei.com) in your browser settings. Export anything you want to keep first. To also delete usage data already sent, first use “Delete shared data”, in the section above.
Contact
For questions or requests about your data, use the contact page. We have no access to your transcripts. Usage data has neither your name nor your email, so it can only be deleted with the button on this page. If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date.
